Comfort Food

Yesterday my grocery bill was a little higher than usual. Nothing too noticeable, but while my wallet was a little lighter, so was my step and my mood -and that is priceless.

Yup, I’m happy to report that Fair Trade is becoming a little more mainstream, which means it’s becoming easier to shop fair trade. It may cost you a couple dollars extra to buy those fair trade chocolate chips, but trust me, chocolate chip cookies taste a lot better when they aren’t produced by child slaves.

So the next time you find yourself lost in the aisles of Loblaws or Superstore, check out their “health food” section to stock up on the newly featured Fair Trade Camino products. They’ve got all your baking needs that won’t cost you your conscience. And if you can’t find fair trade at your local grocery store, ask the manager, write a letter, or find somewhere else to shop. Remember, you are what you eat, so make sure it’s ethical.

And if you’re not quite sure what to do with all your new baking goodies, check out this blog for the ultimate chocolate chip cookie. You be the judge.

Happy Weekend and Happy Bike to Work Day!
